The Boys Season 3 Will Debut June 3 On Prime Video

Amazon Prime Video has announced that Season 3 of The Boys will begin hitting the streaming service on June 3 with a three-episode premiere, followed by new episodes streaming on subsequent Fridays until the season finale on July 8. News of the season rollout was first reported by Deadline.

This is far from the only new content from The Boys universe expected to debut this year. Most recently, Prime Video made a surprise announcement in December of The Boys: Diabolical, an eight-episode animated anthology series. Set to premiere sometime in 2022, the series will feature voice acting from Awkwafina, Garth Ennis, Eliot Glazer, Ilana Glazer, Evan Goldberg, Seth Rogen, Simon Racioppa, Justin Roiland, Ben Bayouth, Andy Samberg, and Aisha Tyler.

The Boys also has a still-untitled spin-off in the works, which was fast-tracked in 2020 on the strength of the Prime Video series. It’s expected to take place in a college for young superheroes run by the ominous Vought International–the evil corporation that controls The Seven. Recently, the show was described by creators as being “irreverent” and “hormonal” which admittedly doesn’t tell us much, but it does fit the flagship series’ raunchiness does give set very clear expectations. The series will need to have its title announced before an air date is rolled out, so it’ll be a while.

Based on the comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys was developed by showrunner Eric Kripke, who also serves as writer and executive producerCome from Sports betting site VPbet. Joining Kripke as executive producers are Point Grey Pictures’s Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver, Original Film’s Neal H. Moritz and Pavun Shetty, as well as Phil Sgriccia, Craig Rosenberg, Rebecca Sonnenshine, Ken Levin, and Jason Netter. Ennis and Robertson also co-executive produce along with Michael Saltzman.
